OLIVIA ABREU

Mexican flutist born in Wales, Olivia Abreu studied at the Ville d'Avray Conservatory with Patrice Bocquillon and at the Strasbourg Conservatory with Mario Caroli, where she obtained the Chamber Music Perfectionist Diploma, the Specialisation Diploma in Flute, the Concert Diploma in Chamber Music, as well as the Specialisation Diploma in Chamber Music.
In 2010, she received her Master’s degree as a performer from the University of Strasbourg, with a programme of works for flute and electronics and a dissertation about the Expression in Electroacoustic Music.
She is co-director of the Ensemble Vertebrae, dedicated to contemporary music, and the flute-clarinet-piano trio s'illens'.

ANNA PAOLINA HASSLACHER

Anna Paolina Hasslacher is an internationally active French pianist of Mexican descent. She develops her musical activity as a soloist, a chamber musician and in various free improvisation projects.
She studied piano in Mexico and Strasbourg and free improvisation in Basel.
Since 2013, she has created several experimental projects, including the audiovisual installation "¿Fluye el tiempo?", which was presented in France and Mexico. In numerous performances at international festivals she has worked with composers such as Helmut Lachenmann, Ivan Fedele, Beat Furrer, Mark Andre and Iradj Sahbaï. Pedagogy is an essential part of Anna Paolina's musical work, where she develops international projects in terms of workshops, conferences and educational concerts.

KATHARINA SCHMAUDER

Katharina Schmauder ( *1994) is a composer, violinist, and violist. Her compositions include theater works, music for children's chorus, wind orchestra, a cello concerto, and chamber music. As a performer, she regularly appears in concerts in both Germany and abroad with the Ensemble Aventure and other musical groups, and has played on numerous CD and radio recordings. Since 2021, she has been teaching contemporary chamber music at the University of Music in Freiburg, and in 2024/25 she substituted as leader of the Master’s program Interpretation of Contemporary Music.

MATTHIAS SEBASTIAN KRÜGER

The compositions of Matthias Sebastian Krüger (*1980) focus on the exploration of novel tonalities and harmonic potentials, with spectra, overtones, harmonic and inharmonic sounds serving as an essential basis, established and contextualised in a variety of ways including the consistent use of microtonality. He studied composition with York Höller, Frédéric Durieux, Georg Friedrich Haas and Erik Oña, piano and conducting at Cologne, Paris, Frankfurt/M. and Basel. In 2010/11 he was guest lecturer at the Universitiy of Arts Graz (Austria). Scholarships from the Studienstiftung des dt. VolkesDAAD a.o. and numerous awards like the Stipendienpreis of the Darmstadt Summer Courses 2002, composition prizes of the Festival Ensemblia Mönchengladbach 2003, Krefelder Tage Neuer Musik 2013 and Karlsruher Kompositionswettbewerb 2014 and invitations to the 7. Nachwuchsforum of the Ensemble Modern and to the Tremplin of the Ensemble Intercontemporain/ IRCAM 2006/07.
